The Stroke Recovery Project Pt. 1- Hospital

My good friend James suffered a stroke in December 2025, and these photos document his recovery, from the initial weeks after being admitted, through to his final week as an inpatient before being discharged.

James chose for me to photograph his journey due to my own personal experience of an Acquired Brain Injury, and an understanding of brain trauma.

I’m pleased to say that he has now been discharged from hospital, but his recovery is far from over.

He will be attending an outpatient rehab clinic to work on his motor skills, as well as outpatient hospital appointments.

I will be further documenting James’ recovery and progress at his home, and will post those images once the project has completed.
